Silence
I feel there is a great hunger for silence in the world today.
Most people probably don't even realise it. there is so much noise & activity around people know no different.
Just sitting and calming your thoughts can help you feel balanced and retuned.
The silence at our meetings is much more than this though, somehow it is a silence full of presence and peace.
I try sit sit for short moments every day in silence & it helps me gain perspective when times are hard and balance me in a way nothing else can do. Either first thing in the morning or last at night, before or after a meal is another good time.
Zen meditation (zazen) is also in silence but Quaker silence is listening & waiting and has a different quality.
